2. John Bradfield was the person who took the responsibility of constructing the huge bridge. John Bradfield was the engineer who was excellent man in construction and designing field. It took eight years to construct the bridge which consisted of 120 tons of two mobile hoists. The shape of the bridge is in the form of arch connecting the one end to other.
3. It was emotional time when the bridge joined the two ends and the engineer started shedding tears. The success of construction of the bridge made people happy. At that time the construction of bridges and other huge buildings was quite risky work. But the responsibility took by the John Bradfield was impressive and appreciable and the bridge got completed easily without any mishap.
4. Governor General inaugurated the bridge by cutting the ribbon of the bridge and people started using it officially. After 19 months of construction the bridge was used by the people. Francis de Groot cut the ribbon for allowing the people to use the grand bridge. The height of the bridge is about 134 meters above the sea level.
5. There were several accidents in the construction of the buildings but death of the 16 labors was quite sad. 16 labors died in the construction work due to mishaps but the construction continued. The bridge is situated in the center place of the city and native people use to visit the place daily for enjoying the view. Bridge is attractor of the tourists.
